OD
Values Advocacy Event |
The national OD Network is sponsoring an examination of values OD practitioners, as members of the profession, should espouse on important issues in organizations and society. A team led by Arnold Minors, member, and Bev Scott, the Chair of the OD Network Board, has been working on this since early in the year. The purpose of this effort is to explore how OD practitioners feel about what values should be espoused or even if values should be espoused as we do our work. All the participants found the discussion very stimulating and support having this longer session.
July 16 is a chance to offer your views and expand your thinking. We will do this through small group discussion of scenarios prepared by the team on subjects such as "why should OD practitioners be present when major decisions are made?" Other scenarios explore spirit and work, client relationships, confidentiality, attitudes towards justice, and responsibility for learning and growth. You will discuss these in small groups. The results will be shared and the combined results sent on to the team and will be published in the PRODN newsletter.
This session will be facilitated by Warren Hoffman, Chrissa Merron (PRODN Member and member of the national OD Network Board), and Ken Weidner (Assistant Professor of Management at St. Joe's). It is also sponsored by John Thinnes, Program Director for Training and Organization Development at St. Joe's (http://www.sju.edu/TOD/).
