The current turbulent business climate lends particular value to the concept of mentoring. We are being urged to own our careers, develop ourselves, do more with less, and produce greater results than ever before. The need for support is increasing, and books and workshops can only help so much. There is no substitute for the "personal touch" when seeking help with workplace issues. MentorNet was created in 1996 in response to this growing need for support and guidance. What is MentorNet? MentorNet is a free service for members seeking to further their professional development through a mentoring or coaching relationship with other PRODN members who are seasoned practitioners willing to volunteer their services as a mentor. Since its inception, MentorNet has provided mentors to over 40 members. This program is not intended as a vehicle for networking or conducting a job search. Rather, it is an opportunity to develop meaningful, mutually beneficial relationships that promote professional development.
