October 31, 2000 - During the Gala Event at the 2000 OD Network Annual Conference in Atlanta, PRODN was honored as the recipient of this year’s Outstanding Regional Organization Development Network Award. In selecting PRODN for this award, OD Network considered the following submittal:
PRODN’s mission is to be a collegial forum for professional development and dialogue for organization development practitioners and enthusiasts from all sectors and levels of experience. PRODN functions through committees and special interest groups. Overall leadership is provide by a Steering Committee elected through an open-nomination process.
Approximately 90% of our more than 230 members actively participate. Some PRODN features that serve our membership include:
- Learning Events:
- Monthly two-hour programs on timely, relevant topics held in a variety of venues.
- Four or more one to several-day Special Events where topics are explored in depth. They are always fully subscribed and draw participants from a wide geographical area due to high value and low cost.
- State-of-the-art web site featuring upcoming activities, online registration, an online roster, handouts, and links to other OD sites.
- A semi-monthly electronic newsletter linked to the web site (also available to non-members).
- Special Interest Groups – currently on Appreciative Inquiry, Race Dialogue, and OD and the Environment.
- A very popular New Practitioners Group where dialogue and content are explored by new and seasoned practitioners.
- A mentoring system linking seasoned practitioners with students and new entrants.
- A Buddy System to welcome first time attendees and new members.
- A Membership Directory for facilitating networking and collaboration.
Many members do pro bono work in community organizations.
The Steering Committee conducts membership surveys, and is very responsive to the feedback in planning and pursuing opportunities for improvement.
PRODN collaborates with other Delaware Valley human resource organizations.
Past and present Steering Committee members and our many other volunteers have worked tirelessly over the years to make PRODN a vital resource for OD practitioners as well as the Delaware Valley. This award is the result of their cumulative efforts.
