- Completing a "Personal Brand Assessment"
- Identifying 8 indicators of a fragmented vs. coherent personal brand
- Hearing about real life "before and after" examples (drawn from working one-on-one with over 25 OD consultants)

Conscious Use of Self and Systems Thinking
Organization Development is the most powerful technology for creating and managing organizational change that we have available to us. The heart of that power is its focus on thinking systemically rather than linearly. Accordingly, root-cause solutions become available. That’s a simple statement, but not so easy to practice. Our general socialization which is reinforced by organizational culture teaches us to find the problem component within a system then fix it or replace it. This leads to blame, finger-pointing, power struggles and few meaningful solutions. To get over this hump we need to become more aware of ourselves—our belief systems and our patterns of thought, emotion, and behavior. Then, we will have the ability to consciously choose systemic perspective and move further toward our full power as effective change agents.
Presenters:
Michael Broom, Ph.D.: Michael has been consulting internally and externally for over 25 years with all types of organizations--for profit, not for profit, and government. He has served on the Board of the NTL Institute and chaired its Transformative Social Change Committee. He has been on the faculties of Johns Hopkins, Georgetown and American Universities. He is the co-author with Don Klein of Power: The Infinite Game and sole author of The Infinite Organization published in September of 2002. In 2001, he founded the Center for Human Systems (www.ChumanS.com) which also sponsors the Practitioners Programs in Columbia, Maryland, Philadelphia, San Francisco, and Montreal.
Edie Seashore, Ph.D.: Edie has over 40 years of experience consulting and shaping the field of Organization Development. She served as President of National Training Laboratories Institute for Applied Behavioral Science and as faculty for John Hopkins, Georgetown and American Universities. In 2001 she received the LifeTime Achievement Award form the OD Network. She is co-author of What Did You Say? The Art of Giving and Receiving Feedback, as well as Breaking Sex Role Stereotypes: Power Collusion, Intimacy/Sexuality Support. Creativity and the OD Process presented by Christina Robertson, Ph.D., Career Resources Management LLC. Many consider creativity the province of artists, writers, and musicians. If we compare ourselves with eminent-level creators, we may "fall short" by comparison and overlook the "everyday creativity" we use in our lives and work. Chris will share findings from research she has conducted with creative older adults. There will be opportunities to explore what creativity is, our own creativity, and apply these ideas to our OD work. The session will include research findings, individual reflection, and interactive experiences.
