How to Maximize Success with Organizational Political Savvy

with Joel R DeLuca, Ph.D.
& Kathryn C. Mayer

While most people are wary of organizational politics, political savvy individuals know how to manage them. Managing organizational politics is essential to maximize credibility and impact within your own and within your client organizations.

Political Savvy overcomes the taboo of discussing organizational politics. It debunks the stereotype of organizational politics as a ‘shark’ infested manipulative underworld. Political Savvy shows how influence can actually increase by operating ethically and ‘above board’. Using tools like the 51% guide, agenda linking, credibility pathing, and political mapping, the Political Savvy approach gives practical hope to those jaded by organizational politics to become ‘impact players’ and leaders.

Joel DeLuca PhD will lead us in experiencing the tools and techniques of the “politically savvy”. As an internal and/or external consultant, you can set yourself apart in today’s marketplace by utilizing Political Savvy strategies to directly impact any organization’s innovation, implementation and success. The evening will be in a real-life, highly interactive case study to elicit and explore hands-on Political Savvy strategies. Dr. DeLuca will be joined by Kathryn C. Mayer, internal Political Savvy Certified Trainer at Salomon Smith Barney. Ms. Mayer has seen the effectiveness of Political Savvy first hand and instituted its use for more than 100 managers and leaders throughout 2002 at Salomon Smith Barney.
