Coaching: A Gestalt Approach

Coaching has emerged as a new professional calling, a distinctive competency and a management mandate. In this experiential one-day intensive workshop, we will outline, experimentally explore, and practice the skills that constitute effective coaching from a Gestalt perspective. Amongst other concepts, we will use the Gestalt techniques of diagnosis, shaping units of work and identifying the power of intentional use of self as coach.

PROGRAM FACULTY

John D. Carter, PhD, is an international organizational consultant with 30 years' experience. He has served on the Executive Boards of GIC, NTL, and the Fielding Institute. He is President and cofounder of the Gestalt Institute of Cleveland's Organization and System Development Center. Themes in his work include managing complex systems change, merger integration, the management of professional organizations, and the personal and professional development of minorities. He is co-chair of The International Gestalt Coaching Program at GIC.

 

Dorothy E. Siminovitch, PhD, has a coaching and organization development consulting practice. She has served GIC in various administrative and governance roles, and is faculty member and Co-chairperson in the Working with Groups training program, The International Gestalt Coaching Program and chair of Working with Groups in Israel. She gives numerous workshops in the US and Canada on Coaching and Group Leadership.
