This workshop will be held during the Pennsylvania Association of Nonprofit Organizations Conference, and co-facilitated by two PRODN members https://collaborativeconference.org/2018-conference/
When Cultures Meet is a blend of dynamic, visceral exercises involving merging cultures, thought-provoking strategic frameworks, facilitated processes, and application activities. Cultures merge every day in a variety of settings, it could include two units, or leadership and staff, or staff and clients, or through the different cultures we bring because of our gender, race, religious/non-religious, ethnic backgrounds.
The workshop opens with an invitation for each participant to share an aspect of her/his/their culture. Next, the experiential exercise focuses on two cultures, one dominant with its traditional ways of working faces the challenge of incorporating people with different traditions. The learning continues with a debrief of the exercise, review and reflection, and concludes with a conversation about applying the learning – how is life “in here” like life “out there.”
